As cliché as it sounds, I brought my book to Book Club. I read as I had my warm soup, hot tea, and savory rice bowl by the sunny window up front. This place is cozy and the service is warm and friendly. The walls are decorated with pages out of old cookbooks, marked up with the previous owner’s notes and revisions. The food was simple but solid, as is the case with all of Kim Bartmann’s restaurants. They also serve several vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
