Winter Citrus Salad

Ingredients
- 1 ripe grapefruit
- 1 -2 ripe blood oranges (or navel, cara cara, sumo oranges)
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/4 cup mozzerella (from the whole ball, not shredded)
- 1/4 red onion, chopped into thin slices
- 1 tbsp capers (optional)
- chopped mint or basil (optional)
- 1 tbsp quality, dressing olive oil
- salt & pepper
Instructions
- Peel the skin off the grapefruit and orange(s) using a serrated knife. Once peel and pilth is off, cut the grapefruit and oranges into bite size pieces. Arrange on a plate or serving dish
- Cut avocado and mozzerella into bite-size chunks, add to plate
- Add sliced red onion, capers if using, herbs if using to the plate
- Drizzle salad with quality olive oil. Note that quality olive oil is essential here to give complex flavor to the dish. Top with salt & pepper and enjoy plan or with toasted bread
